About the Dean’s Position
The Dean of the School of Justice, Public Safety and Law Studies serves as the key liaison and College spokesperson for the School and provides strong leadership for Justice, Public Safety and Law Studies through strategic planning, program development, review and revision, resource development, innovation, faculty development and cross-disciplinary collaboration. The Dean has a strong external focus which includes establishing and fostering connections with external entities related to Justice, Public Safety and Law Studies. The position advances strategic enrollment, student success, college
completion, job placement and transfer.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Miami Dade College seeks a professional, strategic leader to serve as the Dean of the School of Justice, Public Safety and Law Studies. The ideal candidate for this position will possess an established track record of being an effective communicator and visionary who inspires the respect of peers and is adept at building relationships. Much more than an academic, the ideal candidate to lead the School of Justice must serve as a change agent and an inspirational mentor who promotes the school and the many programs which it offers. The new Dean will serve as the school’s ambassador, continuously seeking growth opportunities through strategic partnerships and curriculum enhancements.
